This booklet is based on Public Health England’s Eatwell Guide (2016). The aim is to help you adopt a healthy plant-based diet, also called a whole food plant-based diet. It is composed of minimally processed foods, but high in fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, beans, nuts and seeds.
The five food groups. Below is a quick overview of the major food categories. you’ll enjoy on a plant-based diet, with examples. Fruits: Any type of fruit including apple, bananas, grapes, strawberries, citrus fruits, etc. Vegetables: Plenty of veggies including peppers, corn, lettuce, spinach, broccoli, peas, collards, etc.
