I came back three times in one week to paddle this beautiful lake, I just could never get tired of it. I loved exploring the endless shoreline and many coves, found little hidden spots to land the boat and get out to swim... it was perfect. You even get a view of Mount Rainier from the lake.

Touching three counties and boasting 28 miles of shoreline, Alder Lake was formed in 1944 by the creation of the Alder Dam on the Nisqually River. The Alder Dam, located on the northwestern side of the lake, provides about 50,000 kilowatts of energy, most of which is sent to Tacoma.
