For some reason, the audio sounds like it's underwater or muffled during certain games, and I know for a fact it's not a bluetooth connection issue. I've tried disabling the microphone in the playback devices but that didn't fix the issue.
The best experience i had with AirPods on windows was trough Steam Link. Steam Link is included in the Steam Desktop program. It allows you to stream ur whole desktop and AUDIO to the Steam Link App on your iDevice.

I disabled the hands-free (in other words the microphone) and only use the Airpods Pro as an audio. Next to that I use a USB microphone and an external bluetooth USB adapter and honestly I notice no lag. I namely play CSGO on a high level and League of Legends casually and they last for about 4 to 5 hours.

3 maj 2021 · For Minecraft and Flight Sim the Airpods will definitely be fine. For Apex, you'd have to decide if you think the slightly longer delay in sound is affecting your reaction times. You'd probably be fine, but if you really care about that competitive edge then wired headphones would be better.
1 cze 2023 · Fortunately, the AirPods feature the new H1 chip. According to Apple, this delivers up to 30% lower gaming latency compared to the previous W1 chip from AirPods 1. On a real-time test with my iPhone, I did experience some latency issues but I only noticed it once I put my ears into it.
