My favorites on the AFI's top 100 lists in the order that they're on the lists (there's actually two of them): Casablanca (1942) - It's still an inspiring movie, being about the triumph of idealism and courage over despair and isolationism.
First I compiled a list of where each movie can be streamed. I found out that 30 of the 100 are not available to stream without paying to rent, which sucks. Anyway, I just started today with the movies available at Cinemax (they have 16 of the top 100). Pulp Fiction is #94 on the list. I’ve never seen it before.
I'm thinking about working my way through the AFI Top 100 list (or Entertainment Weekly's 100 Greatest Movies of All Time) and was wondering if there are any good reference materials for the films? I'd like to know more about the directors and the history of each film that made it so important.
