The Aero L-39 Albatros is a jet trainer and light attack aircraft designed in Czechoslovakia to replace the Aero L-29 Delfín. It made its maiden flight on November 4, 1968. From 1972, it became the main training aircraft for the Warsaw Pact countries. Production was carried out by Aero Vodochody until 1999.
For its light attack role, the L-39 is equipped with hardpoints under its wings that can carry a variety of weapons, including bombs, rockets, and gun pods. It also has the capability to carry external fuel tanks to extend its range.
