25 lut 2019 · Organizations use thermal driven chillers, absorption chillers or adsorption chillers based on their preferences. However, adsorption chillers are the most widely used equipment for utilizing waste heat.
Different from the absorption chiller, in which a fluid permeates or is dissolved by a liquid or solid, the adsorption chiller provides cooling by using solid adsorbent beds to adsorb and desorb a refrigerant.
Adsorption chillers use water as the refrigerant and silica gel as the adsorbent, while absorption chillers use water and lithium bromide as the absorbent. Adsorption chillers are more energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and long-lasting than absorption chillers.
22 lut 2019 · This chapter presents a thermal analysis of absorption and adsorption chillers for conditioning the airspace in a building, controlling the hot maximum temperature at the generator input with a modulating tempering valve (MTV) programmed in TRNSYS and Excel software.
26 wrz 2017 · An absorption chiller is different to other chillers because it doesn’t have a compressor. Instead it uses heat to generate cooling. That might seem a little confusing but don’t worry by the end of this video you’ll understand why and how this works.
Sorption chillers are used in air conditioning systems, if the aim is to obtain chilled water (+2 oC to 10 oC) or in indus-trial refrigeration (-20 oC to 0 oC), if lower temperatures are needed. Adsorption chillers supplied by hot water from sun collectors were inves-tigated.
The difference is that in adsorption refrigeration, the refrigerant or adsorbate vapour molecules adsorb onto the surface of a solid instead of dissolving into a liquid. In an adsorption system, an adsorber adsorbs the refrigerant vapour into a solid, while in an absorption system, an absorber absorbs the refrigerant vapour into a liquid. [ 1 ]
