In Greek mythology, Adonis (Ancient Greek: Ἄδωνις, romanized: Adōnis; Phoenician: 𐤀𐤃𐤍, romanized: Adón) was the mortal lover of the goddesses Aphrodite and Persephone. He was famous and considered to be the ideal of male beauty in classical antiquity.

1 wrz 2023 · Persephone and Adonis. Persephone, the queen of the Underworld, was the other significant figure in Adonis’ love life. She was so enamored by his beauty that she refused to return him to Aphrodite, leading to a celestial conflict.
As an adult, Adonis spent two-thirds of the year with Aphrodite and one-third with Persephone. He became Aphrodite’s lover and had two children. Adonis was an avid hunter and possibly the ire of jealously for Artemis.
