During the pandemic, researchers gathered and reviewed evidence of how those with ADHD might be particularly affected by a COVID-19 infection. At least two studies have shown that adults who have ADHD generally have worse health outcomes during and following the illness than other adults.

Similarly, the use of antipsychotic medications to manage disruptive behaviour or the use of sedatives when not clinically indicated should be avoided.
Additionally, we discussed the underlying possible reasons of the association focusing on the role of parental influence and physical activity, vulnerabilities of individuals with ADHD to Covid-19 infection and to school closure and remote learning.

We hypothesized that the COVID-19 vaccination rate is higher among adolescents in the ADHD group compared to adolescents in the non-ADHD group. We assumed that patients with ADHD and their parents would prefer to lower the risk of COVID-19 morbidity and mortality by vaccination.
