This rule is one of many steps that USDA is taking to ensure that federal child nutrition programs can serve the millions of children who depend on them to reach their full potential.
This Final Rule was created to help the FNS and the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) reduce program errors of all types, resulting in more efficient operations and improved compliance with Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirements.
24 kwi 2024 · April 24, 2024. The USDA recently released a Final Rule to better aligns meal patterns in the CACFP, SFSP, and School Meals with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Changes that Impact CACFP include: Changing limits for breakfast cereals and yogurt from total sugars to added sugars.
19 wrz 2022 · The final rule indicates that if a claim is determined to be potentially unlawful, the state agency must still disapprove the claim within 30 calendar days with an explanation of the reason for disapproval and how the claim must be revised for payment.
• Exempts state agencies from the 45-calendar-day timeframe for final action if they suspect the sponsor has engaged in unlawful acts and more time is needed to examine a sponsor’s claim. 14 lip 2021 · FNS has released questions and answers intended to provide clarification to State agencies and Program operators as they operate the Child Nutrition Programs during school year (SY) 2021-2022. These questions and answers were previously issued in calendar year 2020 and have been updated for application to SY 2021-2022.
25 kwi 2024 · Because CACFP operates on a fiscal year calendar, these changes must be implemented by October 1, 2025. For CACFP, the product-based added sugars limits are as follows: Breakfast cereals are limited to no more than 6 grams of added sugars per dry ounce.
