Act 3, Scene 1 Summary. At the royal palace in Forres, Banquo ponders the witches ’ prophecy. Even the second prophecy has now come to fruition, with Macbeth now the new king of Scotland. Banquo thus finds himself wondering if the third prophecy, too—of Banquo’s heirs ascending the throne—would come to pass.
