Longer courses of therapy, sometimes 3 or 4 weeks, may be required for refractory or recurrent cases. Extended release tablets: 2 g (2 tablets) orally every 12 hours for 10 days.

One 500 mg/125 mg dose taken three times a day. Children < 40 kg. 20 mg/5 mg/kg/day to 60 mg/15 mg/kg/day given in three divided doses. Children may be treated with Co-amoxiclav film-coated tablets, suspensions or paediatric sachets.
