Amoxycillin & Clavulanic Acid is used for short-term treatment of bacterial infections at the following sites: Upper respiratory tract infections (including ENT); e.g., tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media. Lower respiratory tract infections; e.g., acute and chronic bronchitis, lobar and bronchopneumonia.

Clavulanic acid combined with other antibiotics is indicated to prevent the development of drug-resistant strains of bacteria and promotes their therapeutic antibacterial effects. 10,13 The following conditions, when they produced beta-lactamases, have been treated with a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid or ticarcillin and clavulanic acid 10,13:
Take co-amoxiclav with a meal or snack. This will make you less likely to feel sick. Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water. If you find tablets hard to swallow, you can break them in half. There is a line down the middle to make them easier to break. Swallow one half and then the other half of the tablet to get the full dose.
Uses of Aclav Products. Amoxycillin + Clavulanic Acid is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is indicated for short-term treatment of bacterial infections of respiratory tract, genito-urinary tract, skin, bone, and tooth among others.
May be taken with meals or on an empty stomach; take with meals to increase absorption and decrease GI upset; may mix with milk, formula, or juice. Extended release tablets should be taken with food. Some products may contain sodium.
27 wrz 2024 · Doses may be taken at the start of meals to minimize gastrointestinal intolerance and improve clavulanate absorption. The reconstituted oral suspension should be stored in the refrigerator and shaken well before use.
Co-amoxiclav Suspension is for oral use. Co-amoxiclav Suspension should be administered with a meal to minimise potential gastrointestinal intolerance. Therapy can be started parenterally according to the SmPC of the IV-formulation and continued with an oral preparation. Shake to loosen powder, add water as directed, invert and shake.
