10 sty 2019 · Completed installation of a new set of 1-7/8 Speed Engineering headers last night. To start off simply, I am absolutely thrilled with form/fit/function of these budget headers and am very pleased I didn't spend 4 times the cost for "big brand" headers.
7 sty 2012 · The 1 7/8" headers made a peak hp of 414.x hp & 421lb ft while the 1 3/4" headers made 408hp & 419 lb ft of torque. While this isn't a huge difference, it definately shows that even on a basically stock car the larger headers are still a good investment!
11 gru 2009 · My understanding is that 1-3/4" is best for a basic bolt-on type car, perhaps with a mild cam, and that the 1-7/8" are best for forced-induction/stroked/heavily modded engines. Sound about right? There is a guy on CF with a supercharged LS2 Vette, he swapped out his 1-3/4" for 1-7/8" headers and gained 2 RWHP but lost 15 RWTQ.

The 1 7/8" headers outperformed through the entire rpm range and didn't kill any bottom end. The difference on this stock engine wasn't much however, single digit HP and TQ. The 1 7/8" would really start to shine even more on a modifed engine, heads, cam, compression etc...
