As that last article says, once hijackers have changed the trusted phone number, or have added an account recovery key, it's virtually impossible to get Apple to do anything for you. If there is a chance, I would start with a police report, so that there is official documentation that this happened.
21 gru 2023 · On Nov 13 of this year I signed into iCloud via a web browser on my desktop PC. I received the verification alert on my iPhone and shortly afterward I got the routine email letting me know my Apple ID was used to sign into iCloud.
6 kwi 2022 · Number one reason why people have issues with account recovery is because other devices are still powered on. I'll explain further. When signed into iCloud on a device it will periodically send a "heartbeat" to Apple saying "hey, I'm here and active".

22 cze 2021 · The first attack vector affects everyone. The second affects everyone that hasn't dove into the obscure iCloud settings to manually generate a recovery key (so basically everyone). Trusting Apple's E2EE is trusting that (a) iCloud servers aren't compromised, and (b) the closed-source third-party HSMs aren't compromised.
