After a student selects Accelerated Reader on the Home page, he or she can take Reading Practice, Vocabulary Practice, Literacy Skills, and Other Reading Quizzes. To see a video demonstration of how students take a quiz, click here. Students should take quizzes within 24 hours of finishing a book.

To get to the Show Quiz Answers preference page, follow these steps: On the Home page, select your initials in the top right corner. Then, choose Edit Preferences from the menu that opens. You can also use the Accelerated Reader menu.
Once you have created the quiz file, you can share it with teachers at other Accelerated Reader schools who want to use your quiz. Those teachers will still need to follow these steps to upload the file and enter the book information.

Many of the AR routines and best practices that apply in the physical classroom are equally relevant when students are learning virtually.
Adding a Teacher-Made Quiz. You can add your own Reading Practice Quizzes to Accelerated Reader. These quizzes are called Teacher-Made Quizzes. You can add up to 500 Teacher-Made Quizzes for each school (quiz numbers 900-1399 are reserved per school for these quizzes).
Students “earn” points by taking the AR quiz for the book they have just read. If a student reads a 10 point book and scores 100 per cent on the quiz, they earn 100 per cent of the points.
Accelerated Reader motivates students to read more through engaging quizzes, goal setting, and personalized recommendations. As students increase their reading volume, they develop greater reading stamina, word recognition, and language comprehension skills.
