Jersey Battered Women’s Services (JBWS) serves survivors of dating, domestic, or partner abuse, and their families. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, transitional housing, counseling, support groups, legal advocacy, batterer’s intervention, assistance with restraining orders, and more.

There are 36 organizations in New Jersey that provide domestic violence services at some level. A total of 33 organizations have provided complete information about their program to this site for a statewide completion rate of 91%. These programs can be found in 28 different cities.
The New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence (NJCEDV) works to increase public awareness about preventing domestic violence and encourages collective efforts to end it in our communities.
The “Founding Mothers” house abused women in their own homes while applying for funding from the federal government to set up a shelter. The Women’s Resource and Survival Center (The Women’s Center) is incorporated.
