20 cze 2009 · for my 9 major loads shot out of my open gun, i use 9.2 grains of HS6 with a 115 grain JHP. I get about 1490+ fps on the velocity. Didn't see too much velocity change when using magnum primers. maybe 30-50 fps more than standard. I did notice a bit less crud using magnum primers compared to standard primers.
4 sie 2010 · Now if you were loading for a 357 Magnum with a 140-158 Gr load, with some W296 or some IMR-4227, then a small magnum primer would be used. Magnum primers have longer burning and hotter flames in order to completely burn the slow burning pistol powders.

4 lis 2021 · I have used CCI 400 SR, 450 SR Magnum, and 500 SP primers in my 9mm Major loads, (which are hotter than anything you are loading), and I've never had any issues.
14 maj 2021 · I and a friend have been shooting 9mm 115gr FMJ with mid powder loads with magnum primers with absolutely no problems. No chrono data but just loaded with mid powder specs and around 1.13 OAl with RMR 115gr FMJ.
