5 lip 2022 · In 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 Paul carefully crafts his words: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort" Paul wanted his hearers to understand that the merciful Father is the author of all possible comfort and consolation.
2 Corinthians 1. After the introduction the apostle begins with the narrative of his troubles and God's goodness, which he had met with in Asia, by way of thanksgiving to God , and for the edification of the Corinthians, ver 7-11.
It is our Saviour who says, Let not your heart be troubled. All comforts come from God, and our sweetest comforts are in him. He speaks peace to souls by granting the free remission of sins; and he comforts them by the enlivening influences of the Holy Spirit, and by the rich mercies of his grace.
CONSIDER WHAT THIS PRINCIPLE IMPLIES ON THE PART OF GOD. It implies that the great Creator and Lord of all is conscious of all the affairs of all his people. He is not merely interested in their affairs; he exercises his will with reference to them.
