16 sie 2015 · The only addition is a small tool (8GadgetPack Tools) which fixes several bugs and allows you to change various settings. There is also an uninstaller included which removes everything the installer added.
2 lip 2020 · I am still running the 8gadgetpack V 30.0 on my machines without any issues, although after every feature update MS thinks that they are not compatible and are being disabled. However it will be a enable link created so nothing actually is lost.
29 cze 2023 · Today, the homepage for 8GadgetPack asserts that it works with Windows 7, 8.1, 10 and 11 (I have personal experience with the package on all these Windows versions to verify this assertion).
Is 8GadgetPack safe if you only use the preinstalled gadgets? Is Windows Defender able to detect malware in 3rd party gadgets?
9 lip 2018 · It is not safe to use them at all frankly - you give authority to a program to download and then do whatever they want. That is why MS dropped them - it is an obvious security risk. If you trust the author then ok but I would not - there are safer ways to get the same info on your desktop.
Considering I found this in it, then tossed it into virustotal and it also found it, I would say everyone blindly installing third party apps that claim to be safe, and openly states it will never have adware (lmao) is begging to be screwed over.
