30 sty 2012 · So your "16 bit depth" tablet uses 16 bits per pixel, not 16 bits per each of the RGB channels, which would be 48 bits per pixel. But 16 bits can't be split equally between three channels. I'd guess that two channels get 5 bits and one gets 6 bits.
17 wrz 2011 · GIMP version 2.10 will will support bit depths higher than 8 bits including 16-bit integers and 32-bit floats. This version could be probably available in one or two years. Currently you can test the functionality in the development branch of Gimp 2.9.
8-Bit. 8-bit resolution produces low quality audio, comparable to "Telephone quality". Audacity does not itself support 8-bit recording. 16-bit is the nearest option. It is possible to export files in an 8-bit format, though Audacity defaults to exporting as 16-bit.
