12 sie 2010 · The GM part number is 546777 for the 79-81 turn signal lever without cruise. It was used on 77-81 Full size Pontiac (bonneville), 78-81 mid size Pontiac (lemans, grand prix), and 79-81 firebird of course. So you may be able to find a used one with a junkyard trip.
26 sty 2009 · So there I was, signaling left and steering into position (little left, little right) to make my turn into traffic when snap my signal lever drops dead. It's just flopping around now, I can still turn on the brights but no signal control up or down.
3 lut 2013 · Turn signal switch has already been removed and is covering this mechanism. To get the switch out you either have to cut the wires in the column or disconnect them from the harmonica. To do this job, you'll need a turn signal switch and a plastic lock plate retainer ring. I got my parts from Willcox, and Willcox has a good walkthrough on it.
25 lip 2011 · Most likely - You may not have the turn signal cam fully seated into the housing, which means one of the screws is sticking up more than it should. It will appear to tighten up, but may not be flat. When you turn the wheel that screw contacts the horn ring at certain points and honks the horn.
11 sty 2018 · I have a 79 Monte Carlo that is missing the turn signal lever. It should look like this. On the inside the column it appears that the piece that the lever snaps into is busted. It looks like a black plastic cylinder with 2 perpendicular pins coming out either side.
21 kwi 2024 · Turn signal lever help. My 79 just pulled straight out with the cruise wire attached pretty hard but straight out. I bought a new one from OD Showtime in Canada but I have not heard him on here lately. I tied a fish string on the wire and pull the new one in with it. Only picture I have.
24 lut 2022 · After much fenageling and some duct tape and bubblegum I'm going to stop being cheap and replace the turn signal switch and cam in my '79 with brand new parts. I've researched my service manual and watched a couple youtube videos so I have a decent plan of attack.
