  1. 13 sty 2022 · He's looking for a suitable substitute for 700x, a bulky, flake powder. Win 231 is a spherical powder designed for use in pistol ammunition and likely much more dense than 700X. So far as i can tell, win 231 is not recommended for use in shotgun shells.

  2. 5 maj 2014 · Which powder most closely replicates the performance of 700x. I am especially interested in 1oz loads. Please consider clean burning characteristics of another recommended power.

  3. 28 kwi 2014 · If you were loading Clay Dot and went to 700 you would get a lot more powder than you want. You won't blow up the gun, but overpressure loads tend to beat them up more than necessary. 700 is more dense than other powders.

  4. 8 sty 2014 · I have had some helpful buddies use Quickload to analyze some data for 700X and Red Dot in pistols. In pistols, these two powders are actually quicker and give higher pressure than Bullseye at the same powder charges. So Quickload is helpful in that.

  5. This extruded flake powder is ideally suited for shotshells in 12- and 16-gauge where clay target and light field loads are the norm. It doubles as an excellent pistol target powder for such cartridges as the 38 Special, 45 ACP and many more. Available in 14 oz., 4 lb. and 8 lb. containers.

  6. 16 kwi 2019 · As far as gas automatics, powders like Clays and Titewad solved the problems of powder residue causing cycling failures years ago. Load either of those to 8500+ PSI and you can shoot a gas auto all weekend without cleaning.

  7. 17 maj 2015 · 700X is one of the best all around powders. It can be used for pistol and shotgun and is readily available. 700X excels in 7/8 and 1 oz 12 gauge loads. I wouldn't even think of using Promo in a SA shotgun. It's filthy and inconsistent from jug to jug. There's a reason its cheap.
