13 sty 2022 · I was wondering, with powder situation, what would be a suitable replacement for 700x as far as volume was concerned. That way I would not have to readjust my reloader at the crimping stations? I laide a 1oz. load using a 30 MEC bushing that drops 17grs. or a little over when I weigh the charge.
5 maj 2014 · The closet powder in "burn rate" to 700X is Hodgedon "Clay's." "Clay's" is also one of the cleanest burning powder's available. Good luck trying to find any.
13 gru 2013 · Most of my handguns have short barrels, so I think a faster burning powder should be an advantage. A powder that is still burning after the bullet is 2” out of the barrel seems to me to be doing little good. If you have a favorite load for any of the following handguns using Imr 700x, please share.
28 kwi 2014 · If you were loading Clay Dot and went to 700 you would get a lot more powder than you want. You won't blow up the gun, but overpressure loads tend to beat them up more than necessary. 700 is more dense than other powders.

In pistols, these two powders are actually quicker and give higher pressure than Bullseye at the same powder charges.
