23 maj 2007 · It seems that all the time of having glow plug issues and return line issues as taken it's toll on the starter. When the engine was cold the contacts were close enought to arc and start the truck. But when it was hot, everything expanded enough to keep the contacts from touching.
8 maj 2010 · The oil penetrates in between the bell housing and the aluminum plate the starter mounts to. I believe this is what causes the ground problems and why it goes away for a week or so every time I remove and clean the starter.
20 sie 2010 · There's a good video on YouTube explaining how to bench test it, I'll search and report back if I find it. Also, buy a new starter online (or just a solenoid from the store if that's your problem), it's $97 shipped on eBay for an oem AND you get to keep your core!
