23 maj 2007 · When I first started looking at why it was having problems starting, I started at the Glow plugs. The engine turned over but was cranking over several times and puff out smoke before running. Also the clicking of the glow plug controller was rather fast.
20 sie 2010 · Had the same issue. Once you pull the starter out, you can bench test the solenoid. Just pull the solenoid out and connect 12V positive to the big terminal and ground anywhere else.

9 lis 2011 · If you don't get 12V there with the relay activated, then replace the relay. If you get 12V out of the relay, then your problem is further down the line at the starter (or the starter mounted solenoid). While you have the small wire pulled off, check for voltage there when you turn the key to start. You should get 12V.
21 gru 2013 · I have a '02 F350 with a 7.3 Powerstroke engine that will not start. It doesn't even try to turn over. When you put the keys in the warm-up position, everything lights up like usual; you can hear the fuel pump and intake heater/glow plug relay kick in.
