• Topics not in the'82 edition are addressed, such as the use of statistical process control in heat treating, and practical applications of the computer in heat treating. • New information is also provided by a number of short articles that focus on major trends and current
The SECO/WARWICK Heat Treating Data Book contains information about heat treating metals. This book is not intended as a text, but rather as a collection of frequently used reference data to serve persons interested in heat treating technology.
Each datasheet includes information such as: composition, trade names and common names, specifica tions (both U.S. and foreign), typical applications, mechanical and chemical properties, fabrication characteristics, and, of course, the reconunended heat treating practice.
Heat Treatment. AISI 6150 alloy steel is hardened at 871°C (1600°F). This steel is tempered followed by normalizing at 899°C (1650°F) and then air cooled.
Each bulletin detailed specific heat treat procedures and common problems associated with the heat treatment of metals (both ferrous and non-ferrous). These bulletins have been well received.
21 paź 2014 · There are two ways to do this, quench & temper, or austemper. Appears the barbell needs properties similar to an automobile anti-sway bar. Quench & temper: heat to 1600F for 90 minutes, oil quench, temper at 850-900F. Austemper: heat to 1600F, quench in 625F salt.
CARBON & ALLOY STEELS HEAT TREATMENTS. 4140 MOD. *Nitrided surface will be higher hardness. The heat treating information shown represents typical procedures and hardnesses for many applications. Other procedures and hardnesses may be available. See individual data sections for more specific information.
