A lap of a standard outdoor running track is 400 meters. To convert between miles and laps of the running track (or other splits in meters) we first convert miles to meters (see above) and then divide by the lap/split distance in meters. For example, to convert miles to 400 meters: multiples of 400 meters = miles × 1,609.344 / 400.
