To convert between miles and laps of the running track (or other splits in meters) we first convert miles to meters (see above) and then divide by the lap/split distance in meters. For example, to convert miles to 400 meters: multiples of 400 meters = miles × 1,609.344 / 400. Or, if you prefer, simply multiply by 4.02336 (which is 1,609.344/400):
