The 6.5 WBY RPM packs a punch and is capable of being chambered in Weatherby’s new sub-five-pound rifle, the Mark V Backcountry Ti. This combination offers maximum downrange performance in the lightest rifle possible.
25 mar 2020 · Weatherby’s new 6.5 WBY RPM (right) is perhaps the first magnum cartridge intentionally designed to fit into a slender action with a standard-size boltface. Surprisingly, it lacks Weatherby’s traditional double-radius shoulder (left).
The first major departure from the classic Weatherby design was the 6.5 Weatherby Rebated Precision Magnum (often abbreviated as RPM), a non-belted cartridge with an angled shoulder and no freebore introduced in 2019. [12]
3 sty 2023 · The 6.5 RPM betters the muzzle velocity of most of the 6.5-284 Norma loads by a couple of hundred fps, pushing a 140-grain Nosler AccuBond to 3075 fps and carrying 1,500 ft.-lbs. of energy out to 500 yards.
20 wrz 2024 · The new 6.5 Weatherby RPM is the first Weatherby Magnum designed without the belted case and double-radii, venturi-shaped neck. The 6.5 Weatherby RPM case has a rebated rim (30-06 size), half-inch-diameter case head, 35.25-degree shoulder, and one-caliber-length neck.

17 kwi 2020 · The 6.5 Weatherby RPM is based on the configuration of the 6.5-284 Norma (and its parent .284 Winchester), but the case is elongated in order to give a greater case capacity and to fit properly in a .30-06-length action. The RPM drives a 140-grain bullet at 3050 fps, giving a near-identical trajectory to the 6.5 PRC.
