2 maj 2020 · On the subject of experimenting, while these are usually referred to as "hamstick" dipoles, you can actully use any 3/8"-24 antennas. So you can use 2 meter, 220, dual band, etc., and get the same kind of results.
15 kwi 2020 · All of the Shark HamSticks have a 3/8” x 24 thread base, convenient for many mounts. Buy a matching set and set up a horizontally-opposed dipole, easily stashed in the attic or out back. Use a quad-mount, and buy two sets (bands) and cover your two favorite bands.
Adding a lightweight rotor under this "Slick Six" six shooter, (say that 10 times really fast), gives you a rotatable dipole on 6 meters! It could also easily be converted to a "Slick Six" 2 element yagi using plumbers delight construction.
8 cze 2020 · Here’s the rundown. Six Meter Dipole. What’s not to like about a six-meter dipole? It’s simple and easily built. Roughly 9 feet from tip to tip, it can fit almost anywhere. It is horizontally polarized, which purportedly is best for VHF DX. And, it works.
On 20 meters, we were surprised to see only about one S-unit (6-dB) difference from a G5RV dipole antenna. Getting the portable whip dipole higher than 20 feet would also improve efficiency on the lower bands.
