30 mar 2017 · Today, the arcades do more than merely provide respite from Cleveland winters. Restyled the 5th Street Arcades, the old Euclid and Colonial Arcades have brought back a range of distinctive shops and eateries that contribute to downtown's revival.
These century-old shopping arcades are unique architectural historic landmarks. The Colonial Arcade, built in 1898, and the Euclid Arcade aka 5th Street Arcade were constructed in 1911 and were connected in 2000. There aren’t as many open shopping store fronts but to go in and see the well maintained architecture is fun.
The 5th Street Arcades are situated in the heart of downtown Cleveland, running parallel between East 4th and East 6th Streets, bound by Euclid and Prospect Avenues at each end. It's a cool piece of historic Cleveland and absolutely worth a walk through when you find yourself near an entrance :)
