23 mar 2023 · There’s the Noahic Covenant in Genesis 9:8-17, the Abrahamic Covenant in Genesis 12:1-3, Genesis 15:1-21, and Genesis 17:1-27, the Mosaic Covenant in Exodus 19-24, and the New Covenant in several places in the New Testament, including Luke 22:20, 1 Corinthians 11:25, and Hebrews 8:6-13.
In order to be God’s “treasured possession,” “kingdom of priests,” and “holy nation” (Exod 19:5–6), Israel must keep God’s covenant by submitting to its requirements (i.e., the stipulations set forth in Exod 20–23).
The promises encompassed by God’s covenants with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are recorded in Genesis 12:1–3. God would bless Abraham in two ways: (1) he would become a great nation and so have a great name, and (2) through him God would mediate blessing to all peoples on earth.
