27 kwi 2023 · Amsoil Z-rod 10-40 (has Zinc additive). I was turned onto Amsoil by my good buddy Dennis H, who runs it in his yellow Coronet R/T. It's been good stuff and now I also run Amsoil trans fluid in my 727 and Amsoil Dot3/Dot 4 brake fluid as well.
3 wrz 2022 · I use Valvoline VR1 oil in all my engines. I do the break-in with it, and that's what is run in it. With today's cams, I make my initial start and run for 30 minutes at 2000 rpms.
27 lip 2020 · My opinion: For a stock engine the VR-1 10w-30 is fine as it will flow easier on cold starts, or any conventional 10w-40 of your choice and you can use a Zinc additive for peace of mind. For a modified engine with a performance oil pump 20w-50 is good as you can take advantage of the larger pickup tube. K.
6 paź 2013 · It looks like the stock dipstick and a factory Mopar oil pan. It is a 440 E Series block from 1969 that came out of a C class Polara or another large car. But who knows what dipstick and oil pan was s really used to rebuild the engine.
19 lut 2013 · Assuming it's a street driven 440, mild upgrades. I tend to like Mobil 1 synthetic 10W-40 and 10W-30 in colder weather. That article tells me I should use an even synthetic in cold weather that I have been using.

7 cze 2020 · Mathilda runs best with Motorcraft Super Duty Diesel Motor Oil 10W30, which runs ~$20/5 qt. at Wally-world, and gives a nice 1221 ppm of zinc for that price. I used Rotella T5 10W30 before that, until confirming that they've dropped the zinc content down to "safe" (for catalytic converters!) levels, of less than 1000 ppm.
