8 lut 2014 · My factory GM HEI pulled out of a '77 Chevy van has been working flawlessly since 1998. The only thing that's been done to it was to convert it to the eight pin ignition module and disable the advance so that my EFI now controls the spark timing.
25 kwi 2019 · The GM 250 engine camshaft is cut at the opposite angle, so its distributor drive gear won't work in the AMC/Jeep 258 engine. The new correctly adapted HEI distributor has just one input power wire (ON/OFF) lead that is fed by the ignition key switch, and a lead for an HEI compatible tachometer, if one is desired.
7 wrz 2016 · This is a "how-to" thread for installing an HEI distributor on your AMC 258. This was completed on a 1985 Base model so your components may vary depending on year. Other things to note, I have a Weber 38 DGES installed and have previously half-nutter bypassed my motor.
23 cze 2018 · Now most hei kits recommend re-gapping plugs after doing the hei swap (usually around .045 but you can’t gap E3 plugs.). So I ran my heep for a while with the E3’s & while it ran fine I was slightly disappointed with the hei swap since I was expecting a little more improvement.

1 lis 2005 · The drive gear found on stock 79 & later Jeeps with the Duraspark ignition will not fit properly on the HEI distributor. This problem is easily remedied with the purchase of a new drive gear.
6 gru 2010 · I just switched to a HEI on a AMC 304 and the only issue I came up with was to get the next longer fan belt for my power steering pump. It fit with the original belt but real tight with the larger Dist.
