8 lut 2014 · HEI inductive discharge produces a longer duration spark; Crane Hi-6 produces multiple short duration sparks (up to 3000 rpm). I guess I'm looking for a definitive answer as to which is better. The $30 really doesn't matter at this point.
25 kwi 2019 · The new correctly adapted HEI distributor has just one input power wire (ON/OFF) lead that is fed by the ignition key switch, and a lead for an HEI compatible tachometer, if one is desired. So simple, and much more reliable than the other distributors that came with our IHs when they were new.
7 wrz 2016 · This is a "how-to" thread for installing an HEI distributor on your AMC 258. This was completed on a 1985 Base model so your components may vary depending on year. Other things to note, I have a Weber 38 DGES installed and have previously half-nutter bypassed my motor.
21 lut 2024 · If you have a Jeep Cherokee with a 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine, I highly recommend upgrading to a Jeep 4.2 Hei distributor. It is a relatively inexpensive upgrade that will make your Jeep run better and more reliably.

23 cze 2018 · Now most hei kits recommend re-gapping plugs after doing the hei swap (usually around .045 but you can’t gap E3 plugs.). So I ran my heep for a while with the E3’s & while it ran fine I was slightly disappointed with the hei swap since I was expecting a little more improvement.
While all my Jeeps have V-8 engines, you can get an HEI system for your 6cyl too so this article applies to all such Jeeps. The GM HEI system was used in GM vehicles for a approximately 20 years.
