8 lut 2014 · My factory GM HEI pulled out of a '77 Chevy van has been working flawlessly since 1998. The only thing that's been done to it was to convert it to the eight pin ignition module and disable the advance so that my EFI now controls the spark timing.
25 kwi 2019 · The new correctly adapted HEI distributor has just one input power wire (ON/OFF) lead that is fed by the ignition key switch, and a lead for an HEI compatible tachometer, if one is desired. So simple, and much more reliable than the other distributors that came with our IHs when they were new.
5 kwi 2023 · The “male” spark plug terminal posts on the HEI cap gives you a much better contact between your spark plug wires and distributor cap. Also, the spaced apart terminal posts on the HEI reduces cross-firing and thus produces a far smoother idle.

7 wrz 2016 · This is a "how-to" thread for installing an HEI distributor on your AMC 258. This was completed on a 1985 Base model so your components may vary depending on year. Other things to note, I have a Weber 38 DGES installed and have previously half-nutter bypassed my motor.
16 sty 2011 · DUI distributors are GM HEI's modified to physically fit in an AMC V8 and they claim to be recurved to work better with the AMC V8. The stock GM HEI will not work in an AMC V8 without modifications. The straight six versions do, which is why it's a popular swap if you have a 258 or 232.
