Through life-changing 4-H programs, nearly six million kids and teens have taken on critical societal issues, such as addressing community health inequities, engaging in civil discourse, and advocating for equity and inclusion for all.
4-H helps you learn to make healthy choices about exercise and eating. Being healthy means feeling good inside and outside, with school, friends, and family. In 4-H, you’ll learn how to develop a healthy lifestyle, and you’ll find out about the consequences of unhealthy decisions.
4-H is the largest national positive youth development and youth mentoring organization. It empowers six million youth in partnership with 110 universities, including Cornell University. 4-H research-based programs are accessible in many ways such as via 4-H clubs and teen leadership groups.

The New York State Animal Science 4-H programs are run out of the Cornell University Department of Animal Science in Ithaca, NY. There are youth extension programs for both livestock species, such as dairy, horses, and goats, as well as companion species, such as dogs and rabbits.
