3 lut 2021 · I need to make up a quick tester to simulator 4-20mA signals from remote sensors. The sensors use a 3-wire connection (24VDC, GND, Signal). A pot to adjust the signal would be good, but even a few preselected values using jumpers or a DIP switch would be fine (say 4mA 12mA...).

4-20 mA simulator controllable by a PWM signal from a micro-controller, Raspberry pi, Arduino, Beaglebone etc. Characteristics. Galvanic isolation between PWM input and 4-20 mA loop. Voltage detection on 4-20 mA loop.
17 mar 2021 · Many 4 - 20 mA inputs have a 250 Ω shunt resistor to convert 20 mA to 5 V. If this is what you are dealing with then you can simulate the transmitters with a PP3 style 9 V battery, a potentiometer, a limiting resistor and a multimeter in mA mode.

Circuit design 4-20mA Simulator created by Edgard Pinheiro with Tinkercad.
The SIM-ALP2 can simulate a 2 wire 4-20 mA loop powered device, a 4 wire 4-20mA current source without an external power supply, or a 0-10VDC signal without an external power supply. Simulating is easy in 1 mA/V or 0.1 mA/V increments by simply clicking the up and down buttons.
