I used Alliant Power Pro 300-MP powder under a 150 grain hard cast truncated cone, flat nose, flat base bullet (TCFN FB) of an approximately brinell hardness 18.
I have been reloading the .357 Magnum since the middle 1960's. I have found Winchester W231 and Hodgdon HS-6 powders excellent for low and medium velocity loads and H-110, W296 and Hercules 2400 powders excellent for maximum loads with bullets weighing from 125-158 grains.
22 cze 2021 · I use a very small amount of this powder, exclusively in .357 Magnum loads. It is popular in that and other magnum revolver cartridges, as well as for maxing out the 10mm Auto. The other extremely popular alternative is Hodgdon H110 / Winchester 296.
8 cze 2016 · My favorite loading of all calibers with Unique: 357 Mag with a 125gn JHP bullet. It seems to perform well with 125's. I've ran this load up to 9.6 grains (Speer #14 max), but settled on 9.2 grains.
