10 wrz 2016 · Are you for real, 39/15 on 29 wheels is a 75+ inch gear ratio. You can only ride something like that downhill with wind in your back. If you are stand still in front of traffic light and it hits green you might get hit by cars because you can't get away fast enough.

4 sie 2017 · Re: Gear ratio chart for 29 big bmx. Here's one: 55 gear inches is the norm for BMX, but with those big wheels, you might try 52 or 50 gear inches if you want snappy acceleration.
There can be many contributing factors for measurements to not match up, they can be as simple as tire wear, rim width, tire pressure. We consider our BMX Gear Calculator to be a very accurate guide. Gear Chart

Here’s a quick breakdown on what I believe is the perfect gearing for any big BMX bike running 29 x 2.3-3.0 tires. It’s simple…2:1….that’s it! In other words…if you’re running a 26t sprocket up front then you’re gonna want 13t in the back.
