How long will these engines last with regular maintenance upkeep? Looking through some threads and posts, it seems there are more than a few that have broken the 300,000+ mileage barrier.

5. Overall reliability. Amazing old Golf Tdi. I bought this Golf for my daughter in 2019 with 145,000 miles on it , she has now given it back to me in 2022 to sell as she wants a bigger car now a second child is on the way. It now has 170,000 miles on it and in the past 3 years all that needed replacing was the alternator.
