29 kwi 2021 · They are absolutely removable without removing the rails. The video below shows how the latching mechanism operates. The round plastic "key" should, hopefully, be in your glovebox. Otherwise, you may have to get creative with a pair of needlenose pliers or some such tool.
2 lip 2022 · I didn't put anything back in the screw hole and just put the plastic covers on. The threaded mounting hole is open at the bottom so any water should drain into to roof rack channels. Here's my post:
