21 sie 2024 · I have a brand new 2023 F150 with only 4000 miles. They had to replace the cam phasers, oil sending unit and oil pump under warranty. It was a demo with only 3500 miles when we got it. This issue with Ford is still ongoing. Sickening.

28 maj 2023 · Very common issue with Ford EcoBoost engines in general across the entire Ford/Lincoln line up. They'll take your engine out and fix it outside the vehicle - took 4 days to get mine back. Ford was nice enough to leave a bunch of grounds and stuff loose, so double check what you can.
4 lip 2021 · You’re simply masking the issue by building oil pressure before the engine starts. Cam phasers are designed to lock at base timing after shutting down. This allows time for oil pressure to build in the heads on the next cold start. The oil pressure unseats the locking pin and the PCM can then control the phaser position via the VCT solenoid.
23 paź 2023 · The noise heard is the failure of the VVT drive "phasers" not fully locking into place. The shocks set by the slippage and attempted locking, shock the valve train, gears, chains etc. as they slip, catch, slip.
15 paź 2023 · My 2.7 2022 Bronco had the typical 2-5 second cam phaser rattle after cold start (more than 4 hrs of sitting). After a deep dive into this annoying issue and weighing my options, I decided that removing the engine under warranty was not going to work for me.
28 gru 2023 · If you think about the millions of dollars that Ford is spending to replace phasers on vehicles every year, you’d think they’d do anything possible to fix the issue. Yet it’s been a lot of years with the same concern.
4 maj 2024 · The problem in the F150 Ecoboost is not restricted to the timing chain. Many owners have reported issues with the 3.5L Ecoboost tensioner, timing chain guides, and cam phasers. So, if any of these issues pop up, replacing the timing chain assembly is highly recommended.
