19 maj 2009 · the top for my 1994 325i Convertible will not go down. The windows go down when I press the switch but the top motor does not seem to be operating. If I disengaged the motor (pulled the lever under the passneger seat), how do I re-engage it?
8 mar 2017 · Post some pictures or a video of what you're talking about so we can better help. Will 1995 M Contours fit on my 1994 325is without adjustments/problems? Having trouble getting top to go all of the Way up. The back still has a gap of about 3 inches where is won't fit down. Seems like the top is really tight and won't go down.
Some problems are easy to fix, while others are much more complicated. The E36 convertible top contains a plethora of switches and sensors that tell the convertible top controller when and how to lower the top. If any of these sensors stop working, it can render your entire top inoperable.
19 cze 2021 · Another option is to perform a resync of the top, its pretty simple, and there are a lot of tutorials and videos showing how to go about this. Finally you start coming down to the rabbithole of the microswitches...
13 wrz 2015 · Many times in the past, on this site and Bimmerfest, E93 owners had a variety of problems that were solved by replacing two salmon relays under the lower trunk panel. Cheap experiment for appx. $30 and you can DIY. If BMW does it, it's $50 CPO charge plus. inflated cost of relays.
2 wrz 2010 · My convertible top in sync. The tension straps is one problem that now reading your post I recognize, but I my main problem is that the tonneau cover doesn't go back far enough for the top to clear it on its way down or up. I might do some work on it this weekend and see what I can find.
6 mar 2022 · I was able remove the cover to review the condition of the latches. Both latch assemblies (left and right) were broken. Photos are attached. I took a look at some repair videos. The one by Tim Wells was very helpful, but don't have the tools to do the repair myself.
