8 mar 2011 · Yes, there were 14 Hemi 'Cuda convertibles produced for US-shipments in 1970, plus another 3 for Canada and 1 known Export, bringing the grand total to 18. Since this car was one of the 3 Canadian cars it would be more correct to refer to this as one of 3, or more comprehensively one of 18, but technically it was not one of the 14 sold in the US.

1970 Plymouth HEMI ‘Cuda. From 1966-71, Dodge stuffed their massive Hemi into the small E-Body platform and the 1970 Hemi ‘Cuda is widely accepted as one of the most saught after of these. Only 652 were built when new, including 14 rare convertibles, making an original Hemi ‘Cuda a rare sight.
Resulting from the mating of an E-Body Plymouth Barracuda with Mopar’s most powerful lump, the famed 426 Hemi “Elephant Motor,” the Hemicuda existed for but two model years in 1970 and ’71. Owing to the fact that it added a considerable sum to the price of a ‘Cuda, Hemicudas were exceedingly rare.
