The 1932 Summer Olympics, referred to by the International Olympic Committee as the Games of the X Olympiad, were held in Los Angeles, California, United States, from July 30 through August 14, 1932. A total of individual athletes won medals.
Women competed in six events in 1932, up one from Amsterdam, with the 80 metre hurdles and javelin throw added, but the 800 metres was off the program. On the men’s side, Eddie Tolan won both sprint races, defeating his arch-rival Ralph Metcalfe.
