If that particular cable is a 6 PIN with an additional 2 pins detachable/hanging to the side, that side goes into the graphics card -- you align the 2 pins with the 6 pin to make it into an 8 pin. The other side goes into the PSU. If not, you'll need to feel it out by the shape of the connector.
