I have the old PCNC 1100 Series 3 with the 4th axis, and it's still running fine. Obviously, there are limitations, but most can be worked around. My only complaint is the Russian CAM software (SprutCAM) I bought with it. It was buggy and not documented well. I will be upgrading the control soon.
4 paź 2011 · I think Tormach did more things right than they did wrong and it certainly fills a niche for a semi-professional CNC mill at a reasonable price. I've found that the 1100 will do almost anything I ask of it -- although not always at production-shop levels of throughput...
I have made lots of small stainless steel parts on the Tormach 1100 with no real problems, except maybe one. Because it has stepper motors, it seems to leave "patterns" or aliasing effects when cutting curves.
3 gru 2018 · Re: HASS vs. Tormach 1100MX. Being the former owner of a haas and the current owner of a PCNC 1100, if price was no object, I would definitely go with the Haas. When I had my shop I had a FADAL 3016 a Haas TM-1 with a 10 pocket ATC, rigid tapping and a 5C 4th axis and a heart attack.
But if you want a reliable, affordable, space-saving CNC mill capable of handling all your hobbyist, secondary machine, or educational workshop needs, then you need a Tormach 1100M or 1100MX. And yes - that might cost us business.

11 lis 2022 · To be honest my favorite is the X7 but only because I got it pretty much decked out (all high end options except 5 axis and high speed tool change arm). If I stripped them down to be feature comparable it would probably be a toss up. I would say get some cash in hand like 10-15K and be ready to jump on any Haas mini mill you find pretty quick.
