24 wrz 2021 · N-Trak standards are 40" to the top of rail, with 1" plus or minus adjustable legs to accommodate uneven floors. Which is a pretty good all-around height for a model train layout of any gauge. It also allows adequate room to sit on the floor or on a roll-around legless chair underneath of it to work on wiring.
8 sty 2011 · There are different heights depending on how tall you are and what is the optimum viewing you want. I am 5'8" tall (68") and my layout varies from 48" to 54" tall. The layout mostly runs a long the wall of the layout room, and varies from 24" to 30" wide for the most part.
The optimal height may depend on what you are trying to see during layout operations. I personally feel the "Jolly Green Giant" view can be preferable, particularly if you are trying to see a fair number of operating accessories and not just the trains going by.
31 paź 2015 · The HO group uses 42" (adjustable from 41"-43") from floor to top of rail, the On30 group uses a height of 36" to 38". The higher tables are typical for many modules, and this height gets the trains a bit closer to eye-level, but only two legs can be cut from an eight foot board, so there is no economy of materials advantage to making the legs ...
I've always found about 42 inches for my 6 foot height, which works well from a bar stool as well. Wheelchair bound or children operators would likely need it a bit lower. Reach width is important....
