30 sty 2005 · disc changer recently broke (door problem) and I was able to fix it myself. The cd door is supposed to sit in a groove so the the cogs can drive it in and out. However in mine it sat not in the correct groove but an adjacent unused one. Hence "MECH " on the display. I eventually got it out and re-placed the door and now it works fine. You
2 kwi 2007 · These old MB CD changers have been driving me NUTS!! I have been trying to fix this sucker for literally 9 months since i got my car, and after many temporary fixes i FINALLY found the perfect solution. Pull trunk carpet up and locate the two mounts w/ the phillips screws in them.
29 mar 2021 · Best bang-for-the buck Sony 5CD Carousel replacement (in my opinion) is the audio-dedicated SACD Sony SCD-CE595 or SCD-CE795, and will set you back about the same cost as a repair. You can also pick up one of their SACD "DVP" 5CD Carousel models for a little more.

If the player is not operating correctly, reinstalling CDs may damage the CDs. Attempt to rotate the platter with all discs removed. If the platter rotates, install a few discs to verify operation. If the platter does not spin when the unit is empty, service will be required. Go to Product Repair.
